The Mathematics Society committee members prepared a series of incredible activities for all students during Mathematics Week from 4 to 8 May 2026.
Morning Reading Sessions:
There were mathematics reading sessions in students' homerooms during the morning periods. Articles about mathematics in relation to daily life and national education were distributed. Students got to explore the intersection of mathematics and our nation through reading. Mathematics teachers discussed the content with students during the lessons. It helped students understand the broader impact of the subject.
Exciting Math Q&A Competition:
A Math Q & A Competition was held for junior form students in the morning assembly. Four teams, A, B, C, and D were formed and competed in 2 rounds, the Compulsory Part and the Buzz-in Round. We were honoured to invite students from Ho Shun Primary School to join the teams. The competition was intense and exhilarating, demonstrating a high level of engagement from both teachers and students.
Lunchtime Interesting Game Booths:
During lunchtime in Mathematics Week, students could go to Cheong Lap Hall to participate in a bunch of incredible and challenging mathematical games at different game booths. They would get a prize if a challenge was completed!
Happy Board Game Day
On the last day of Mathematics Week, committee members and mathematics teachers played board games with students at Cheong Lap Hall during lunchtime and after school. It was the perfect time to relax and have fun with friends at the end of the week.
All in all, students could participate in different activities based on their interests and abilities during Mathematics Week. By demonstrating the application of mathematics in daily life and engaging in interactive activities, we hope that students will not only foster a positive attitude towards mathematics but also develop problem-solving skills.
