The day's itinerary was packed with excitement, divided into morning and afternoon sessions:
Morning Session: First-Time Fire Making & Homemade Egg Waffles
The day kicked off with the ultimate survival skill: fire-making. Students challenged themselves using magnesium flint fire starters, and some even attempted the highly difficult technique of drilling wood to start a fire. Although the process was grueling, it proved to be an invaluable lesson in patience.
Afterward, everyone divided the labor and worked together—some carefully tended the fire, while others busily mixed the batter. Within a brief ten-odd minutes, piping hot, charcoal-scented egg waffles were freshly baked. Parents and children shared the delicious treats they made with their own hands, enjoying an indescribable sense of accomplishment.
Afternoon Session: Little Architects — Creative Forest Wooden Huts
The afternoon session was a perfect blend of creativity and hard work. Students transformed into "Chief Engineers", handling everything from brainstorming designs and measuring dimensions to tightening screws by hand—building their very own wooden huts entirely from scratch.
Parents served as the ultimate support system, providing guidance and assistance from the sidelines. It was deeply moving to see multiple families working in perfect harmony to complete their structures, and then confidently stepping forward to present and share their work. The spirit of cross-family collaboration was truly inspiring.
On this day, everyone broke a sweat in the woods. What they gained was not just the joy of being close to nature, but also beautiful memories of parents and children working hand-in-hand. Though the journey was brief, the warmth left in everyone's hearts will linger for a long time to come.
