The 13th PTA Annual General Meeting
|
The conference reports, financial reports and the budget for the new year were approved. Certificates of appreciation were presented to volunteers. The 13th Executive Committee (2013-2015) was elected. Principal Siu briefed the participants on reference data of the 2012 and 2013 HKDSE as well as the future arrangements of the school. After the meeting, parents were arranged to meet the class teachers and other teachers to understand the students’ performance at school.

Seminar on S3 Students’ Subject Selection-cum-Parents’ Night
|
In order to help students make informed decisions, details about the NSS curriculum, subject selection procedure, requirements of subjects as well as the correlation between individual electives and both further study and careers were given to students and their parents.
Principal Siu also described in detail the implementation of the NSS curriculum at school. Afterwards, class teachers met the parents and delivered the school report cards of the First Term Test, while students stayed at the School Hall for the talk concerning overseas examinations.

Visits from six primary schools in Tusen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi Districts
|
Students form Kwai Ming Wu Memorial School of the Precious Blood, Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School, Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood, Lei Muk Shue Catholic Primary School, S.K.H. Chu Oi Primary School (Lei Muk Shue) and CCC Kei Wai Primary School visited our school. There were about 560 participants in total. In addition to attending the briefings, the primary students participated in lessons to experience the learning in secondary school.

S4 and S5 Parents’ Seminar

The seminar facilitated parents’ understanding of the students’ performance in the school, and helped the students solve problems in learning. All these were to help students rise to the challenge of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education.

Primary 6 students School Visit

The first session was registered online. The session lasted two hours and was attended by 750 parents and students.
The second session was organised by Tsuen Wan District Parent Teacher Association Federation. It lasted one hour and was attended by 400 parents and students.

Parents’ Day
|
Report cards were delivered on the occasion. Parents could better understand the students’ performance at school through conversation with the class teachers. Parents could also talk to the school social worker or teachers from the School Discipline Section and the Student Counselling Section by appointment. In addition, rank lists of different forms and subjects were displayed at the School Hall.

Staff Development Day

It was divided into two sessions, i.e. the annual work review in the morning session, and the joint-school staff development activities in the afternoon one.
The activity was jointly organised by the school and Tsuen Wan Public Ho Chuen Yiu Memorial College. It took place at the school hall of Tsuen Wan Public Ho Chuen Yiu Memorial College. Teachers of both schools exchanged ideas and experience on student issues. Ms. Chris Wat Wing Yin, columnist, gave a talk on how to communicate with the new generation.

Fundraising bazaar
|
For the purposes of promoting environmental education, encouraging best use of resources, and raising fund for the 40th anniversary activities to be held next academic year, the Parent-Teacher Association and the Students’ Association organised a fundraising bazaar. Items for the bazaar were donated by students, parents and teachers. Fifteen percent of the income of each item sold was donated to the 40th anniversary activities. Some parents donated the full amount of items sold.
