Moral & Value Education

Our school’s values education adopts a whole-school approach, delivered through regular curricula and co-curricular activities while aligning with the school’s focus areas. We implement values education to foster positive attitudes tailored to school-based characteristics and needs to improve and enhance students’ interpersonal skills, civic awareness, and national consciousness, striving to nurture future pillars of society equipped with positive thinking, social responsibility, and a global perspective.

Regular Classes: Fostering Personal Growth

In terms of the regular curriculum, Moral Education classes are offered across all junior and senior secondary levels. Throughout the year, the curriculum covers multiple domains including personal growth, school life, family life, and social interaction. Classes are conducted using interactive formats and games, allowing students to learn essential values such as perseverance, diligence, empathy, commitment, and law-abidingness in a relaxing and engaging environment.

The school hosts two to three morning assembly sessions per cycle, featuring teacher-student sharing sessions, guest speeches, and workshops covering diverse subject knowledge and experience sharing. This enables students to learn beyond traditional classroom formats. Morning assemblies not only provide a platform for students to share their learning outcomes, but also offer opportunities to learn from teachers and subject experts. The school guides students to practise noble virtues modeled by speakers—such as respect and responsibility—in their daily lives.

Experiential Activities: Nurturing Diverse Character Traits

Beyond classroom learning, the Values Education Team organises a rich variety of experiential activities. In recent years, through the Sister Schools Scheme, exchange tours, and various Chinese culture workshops, students have deepened their understanding of mainland China’s development and traditional culture, strengthening their national identity. Additionally, service-learning visits to elderly people living alone are arranged, helping students recognise others’ needs and cultivate empathy through meaningful interaction. Furthermore, the school purchases various positive education books annually for students to borrow and present, creating a vibrant reading atmosphere to comprehensively enhance students’ sense of positivity and well-being.

Regarding co-curricular activities, the school’s Environmental Protection Group is dedicated to embedding core values of environmental conservation and sustainable development across campus. Breaking through traditional classroom boundaries, the group conducts diverse and inspiring extracurricular experiential activities. These guide and educate students to implement eco-friendly principles such as energy saving and waste reduction at source, ultimately nurturing global citizens with international perspectives and social responsibility.

Hands-On Planning: Turning Knowledge into Action

To effectively execute activities and ensure students of all backgrounds and abilities benefit, our school provides diverse learning modes while actively establishing various student leadership teams. Students gain hands-on experience by coordinating and leading activities, such as serving as masters of ceremonies for events and lectures or facilitating programs. Through these roles, students accumulate organisational and communication experience while witnessing the proactive and positive leadership attitudes of their seniors—achieving a spirit of “passing on the torch”. This approach enhances their interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, organisational capacity, self-confidence, and sense of belonging to both the school and the country, preparing them thoroughly for further studies and entry into society.
